Cryptanthus Plant Care Routine:

Water: As a thumb rule, use the finger dip test to ensure proper watering. Insert your finger about an inch into the soil; if it feels dry, it’s time to water. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged.

Humidity: Enjoys high humidity. Mist the leaves regularly or place the pot on a tray of pebbles filled with water.

Temperature: Thrives in temperatures between 60-80°F (16-27°C). Avoid cold drafts.

Fertilizer: For 4 or 5 inch size pot, 1 tsp. of given specially prepared home made organic manure per month after 2 months of receiving the plant. If you are using any other fertilizer then please follow the dosage instructions carefully.

Take the following care of the plant for the first two to three weeks after getting it to your location:

  • Moisten the upper potting mix if dry.
  • Keep the plant in bright, indirect light. (2 – 3 hrs)
  • Insert a finger or small stick into the soil to check wetness.
  • Water when 1-2 inches of top soil feels dry.
  • Don’t re-pot it for at least two weeks after receiving the plant.
