Jade Plant Care Routine:
Light: Needs at least 3 to 4 hours of bright indirect sunlight to get strong and thick bushy foliage. Avoid afternoon sunlight. View Light Guide 👈 Click here
Water: Jade being a succulent, its leaves act as water reservoirs. As a thumb rule, use the finger dip test to ensure proper watering. Insert your finger about an inch into the soil; if it feels dry, it’s time to water.
Soil: Use well-draining soil to prevent water logging, as they are susceptible to root rot.
Temperature: Keep it in a warm environment, ideally between 65°F to 75°F (18°C to 24°C).
Fertilizer: For 4 or 5 inch size pot, 1 tsp. of given specially prepared home made organic manure per month after 2 months of receiving the plant. If you are using any other fertilizer then please follow the dosage instructions carefully.
Immediate Instructions Upon Receiving Your Jade Plant:
Take the following care of the plant for the first two to three weeks after getting it to your location:
- Moisten the upper potting mix if dry.
- Keep the plant in bright, indirect light. (2 – 3 hrs)
- Insert a finger or small stick into the soil to check wetness.
- Water when 1-2 inches of top soil feels dry.
- Don’t re-pot it for at least two weeks after receiving the plant.
FAQs:
Q: How often should I water my Jade Plant?
A: Water your Jade Plant when the top inch of soil feels dry. Over watering can lead to root rot, so it’s essential to let the soil dry out between watering.
Q: Can I keep my Jade Plant outdoors?
A: Jade Plants can be grown outdoors in mild climates, but they prefer sheltered locations with partial sun. Make sure to bring them indoors during cold or frosty weather.
Q: Why are the leaves of my Jade Plant turning yellow?
A: Yellow leaves on a Jade Plant are often a sign of over watering or poor drainage. Allow the soil to dry out between watering, and ensure the pot has adequate drainage holes.
Q: How big will my Jade Plant grow?
A: Jade Plants can grow up to 2-3 feet tall when mature, but their growth rate can vary depending on environmental conditions and care.
